Smart grid as keystone in the future smart energy system
Event information
The purpose of this open Mission Innovation Smart Grids workshop is to gather decision makers, experts and others with interest in intelligent energy systems to discuss the latest advancements around the world, innovation priorities and identify international collaboration possibilities, business opportunities as well as innovation potentials. The workshop will discuss smart electricity grids and focus on the integration of different energy systems (electricity, heating, gas, transportation etc.).
The workshop is organized by Missions Innovation Challenge #1 ‘Smart Grids’ Working Group in collaboration with the Danish Partnership for Smart Energy Networks and Swedish forum for smart energy.
The workshop takes place in the Copenhagen Nordhavn; the largest city development area in northern Europe, which act as a living lab for integrated smart energy solutions.

Following the workshop a guided tour in Nordhavn is offered. During this tour you will get a short introduction to the EnergyLab Nordhavn project and the demonstrations taking place in Nordhavn which includes the grid-integrated battery in P-hus Lüders and district heat-substation.

Nordhavn
Copenhagen Nordhavn is one of Europes largest city development areas, which will make room for 40,000 people and 40,000 job over a 50 years period. The area has a high focus on sustainable solutions and as the first city district in the world, it got the DGNB sustainability certification.
EnergyLab Nordhavn
Denmark’s largest smart energy R&D project ever, EnergyLab Nordhavn (www.energylabnordhavn.dk), takes place in the city area. A wide range of smart energy solutions are exposed in the area (smart electricity grid, grid battery storage, smart buildings, eMobility, smart district heating, new business models, novel data management etc.).
EnergyHub Nordhavn
The workshop location is the EnergyHub, a newly inauguration incubator environment for startups and established businesses within sustainable energy solutions in the smart city. EnergyHub includes the EnergyLab Nordhavn showroom.
