Best teacher of the semester Spyros Chatzivasileiadis acknowledged at a Department meeting online.
Since DTU is physically closed due to the coronavirus crisis our first Department meeting this year was held online via the Zoom platform today, 13 May 2020.
At the meeting our Deputy Head of Department Michael A.E. Andersen announced the best teacher of the Autumn 2019-January 2020 semester at DTU Electrical Engineering:
Associate Professor Spyros Chatzivasileiadis, from our Center for Electric Power and Energy, for the MSc course 31765 Optimization in modern power systems (Optimering i moderne power systemer).
The specific course introduces the students to general optimization algorithms, explains their principles, and shows them how to formulate and solve the relevant problems in power systems.
The course and its teacher received excellent student evaluations.

At the online meeting Spyros received a big round of applause and cheers from colleagues. A best teacher diploma and a box of chocolates has been forwarded to Spyros.
The best teacher nominations are based upon the student evaluations of courses as a means of providing feedback on the quality of teaching. The evaluations are received and examined by the Department's Board of Studies and Management.
